|Mr. Sergio DALPIAZ, the Representative of the Veneto Banca Holding in Eximbank and Mr. Marcel CHIRCA, the General Director of the Bank took part in the meeting.
First of all Mr. Sergio DALPIAZ passed greeting to Prime Minister on behalf of Mr. Vincenzo CONSOLI, Administrative Delegate of the Veneto Banca Holding and has informed about activity of the banking group Veneto Banca in Republic of Moldova. In 2006 after acquisition of the Eximbank, the Group has invested the amount of 50 million euros in the statutory capital of the Bank, and provided crediting lines worth 65 million euros as loans for corporate clients and individuals up till now.
Sergio DALPIAZ confirmed the intentions of many Italian investors to set up a business in Moldova, who are interesting in the economic and political stability of the country.
"This is a difficult period for all, but we continue to believe in big potential of Republic of Moldova and right now we are working on the optimization of expenses and creating a new financial products and processes", has stressed Representative of the Veneto Banca Holding.
Prime Minister Vlad FILAT appreciated the Bank's activity and expressed a confidence that Government will identify solutions to ensue favorable conditions for the development of business in the Republic of Moldova.
"The banking sector is vital for the country's economy. Thereupon, we want to attract and manage efficiently the investments in this field, thus ensuring a long-term development of the economy on the whole," the Prime Minister said.
In conclusion, Vlad FILAT has mentioned that at the moment they are in process of development of many activities, aimed to improve the situation on the whole and an economic process in particular, and has gave assurances that the government will be a reliable partner for the Bank and for investors.
