On 22-23 of June 2005 the annual sub-regional conference of member banks of the International Payment System Visa International from Russia and CIS countries was held in Toronto.
The main focus of the conference was on the practices of Canadian banks in developing VISA card programs. During the two days leading professionals from VISA Canada, VISA CEMEA, as well as representatives of Canadian and CIS banks exchanged opinions in the following subjects:
Development of card products meeting customer needs;
Customer base segmentation and selection of the most attractive segments;
Effective management of retail cards portfolios, attraction and retaining of customers;
Risk minimization and combating card fraud;
Importance of the legal basis and its influence on retail banking development, etc.
The annual sub-regional conferences organized by VISA International assist in determining current problems facing the member banks of this particular region and allow to find the ways for overcoming them by developing a unified concept of further development and strengthening business relations among member banks.
