|Executive Board of Directors JSCB "Eximbank" at its meeting on January 24, 2005 adopted a decision to decrease the interest rates on the time-deposits, attracted from individuals, starting February 01, 2005. Changes in the interest rates apply to the time-deposits for the period of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, both in local and foreign currencies, and do not apply to time-deposits with the fixed interest rate, that were opened by February 01, 2005.
As a result of these changes, the annual interest rates on time deposits for the period of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months will be as follows:
In MDL: 15.5%, 17.0%, 17.2% and 17.5%
In US dollars: 6.0%, 7.5%, 8.0% and 8.5%
In EURO: 5.0%, 6.5%, 7.0% and 7.5%.
This decision is explained by current macroeconomic tendencies in the market of the depositary services, and by the ones that are predicted by the Government and by the National Bank of Moldova regarding the low rate of inflation and insignificant devaluation of the national currency for 2005.
