JSCB "Eximbank" becoming a member of VISA International.
The Board of Directors of "VISA International" has officially notified Eximbank about the Bank's membership in the given organization as an associate member.

Eximbank is the third Commercial Bank from Moldova having been offered the right of issuing VISA International cards. The Bank plans in the nearest future to make possible the cashing of VISA cards via its subsidiaries and ATM's, and begin the issuance of three types of VISA cards - Electron, Classic and Gold.

At the present date three of the Moldavian Banks - Victoriabank, Eximbank and FinComBank are members of the two of the world's most well-known payment systems - VISA International and Europay International.

VISA International - is the world's largest payment system, with 21 thousand financial institutions as members. At the moment they have issued over one billion cards. The users of VISA cards have purchased in 2001 goods and services in the amount of 2 trillion USD. The VISA Cards are accepted in 22 mln points of sales in over 130 countries.

"Europay International" is the Europe's largest payment system (60% of the market), set up and managed by the European Banks. The member banks, over 9000 in number, issue and maintain a wide variety of products, including credit cards, debit cards, microprocessor cards with "electronic wallet" and traveler's cheques.

At the present day 240 million "Europay International" cards are used in all types of bank settlement. The Europe's largest network of 216000 ATM's is granting a free access to cash with practically no barriers.
